I read a news story with the title "I met a troll in Stockholm" the story wasn't actually about a troll and the title was probably just to get people to read it. But the title made a spark in my imagination I created the idea that I could make a short film in which there is a troll living under a bridge. everyone sees the troll as a bad person and everyone tries to stay as far away from him as possible. one day a young guy sees the troll and asks him to go into town with him. He is first really anxious to leave the bridge but when he agrees to leave he has a great time with his newly made friend. he is looked at with disgust and people are pointing and laughing at him which is a shot that I could do from the trolls perspective to add to the mise en scene. In the end, the troll manages to save his friend by either saving him from being hit by a car or falling off of something. one other idea I also had was that I could introduce a troll hunter that is out to get the troll from the start which he then gets killed by in the end whilst saving his friend.








 I also got inspiration from a music video by kodaline called all I want.


Another idea I had was that the troll, after being lonely under a bridge or in an isolated place, decides to go out and explore the city on his own where he meets someone who decides to become his friend after seeing everyone else in the city looking at him with disgust. The human teaches him how to act until he becomes to the point where he is seen as normal in society. he then goes out on a night out with his friend where he sees another troll and becomes friends with the other troll.


My last idea is that the troll lives under the bridge with his brother until one day the trolls brother decides to run away and pursue a life in the city. The troll then  lives a few days on his own missing his brother which I could do a montage of showing the troll being sad because of being on his own. He then decides to go to the city to find his brother where he will face some sort of challenges finding him. I would do shots from the trolls point of view of people looking at him weirdly and in disgust. In the end he finds his brother who has become successful in the city which would round out the film and where I could end it.

When one troll leaves the other to peruse a normal life in the town, his distraught brother desperately searches the surrounding areas to find him. Getting inspiration from existing shorts

To help me think of ideas for my short film I used YouTube to find some short films to watch for inspiration. I found that there are so many different types of short film but one short film stood out to me. This was a short called "deep it"done by million youth media and put on their YouTube channel. it shows the regularity and frequency of stabbings in London. I like the style of it as it has a deep meaning and hits hard especially at the end. after watching this I liked the idea of making a video that had some sort of deep meaning. This short stood out to me personally because a lot of the characters are around my age and the story follows people a similar age to me. I also enjoyed it because I thought it was very well made in terms of the camera angles and shots used.
